Aladdin flying high for third week

Disney revamp Aladdin made it a hat-trick after magicking up a third week at the top of the UK chart.

The Guy Ritchie film, starring Will Smith as the genie, took another £3.9m to take its tally to £26m domestically, while second spot went to a new entry, the latest X-Men entry in the franchise, Dark Phoenix.

The film, which stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Sophie Turner opened with £3.7m, pushing Elton John bio Rocketman into third spot.

Sequel The Secret Life Of Pets trailed in fourth place, with new entry Take That – Greatest Hits Live back for good in the chart in fifth with a debut of £1.8m.

The King Of The Monsters, Godzilla, had to forsake his crown in sixth, with new entry Bharat in seventh, and Secret Cinema’s Casino Royale in eighth.

Keanu Reeves actioner Joh Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Ryan Reynolds’ cute Pokemon Detective Pikachu rounding out the top ten.

Elsewhere Liam Gallagher doc As It Was debuted in 11thwith £363m, with Julianee Moore’s Gloria Bell opening in 14th.
