Ant-Man And The Wasp is nectar to UK cinemagoers
Marvel sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp flitted straight into the top spot in the UK Box Office Chart.
The film, starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, took just shy of £5m on its debut and powered past Mamma Mia 2 to nab first place.
ABBA spectacular Mamma Mia 2 held firm in second, having taken close to £40m in its three weeks, while Tom Cruise’s sixth Mission: Impossible instalment Halo jumped down to third.
Elsewhere superheroes Incredibles 2 slipped to fourth, with Hotel Transylvania 3 dipping to fifth.
Another new entry saw Teen Titans Go! To The Movies open in sixth with a lowly £389k, with chart mainstays The First Purge, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Skyscraper and Ocean’s 8 rounding out the top ten.
