Arresting Bad Boys sequel retains top spot in US
Second week in, and Will Smith’s Bad Boys For Life remained top of the US Box Office Chart.
The film, which also stars Martin Lawrence, took a further $34m, taking its tally to $120m domestically, and more than double that of its closest rival, Sam Mendes’ Oscar-worthy 1917, which took $15.9m in second spot.
The underwhelming Dolittle, starring Robert Downey Jr, fell to third spot , while new entry The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie’s crime caper starring Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant, debuted in fourth with $10.6m.
Elsewhere Dwayne Johnson’s Jumanji sequel, The Next Level, dropped down to fifth, with new entry The Turning, a horror movie starring Mackenzie Davis, opened with $6.9m.
Elsewhere Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker was seeing more of a fall in seventh despite surpassing $500m in its six weeks, with Greta Gerwig’s Little Women adaptation, Michael B Jordan’s drama Just Mercy and Rian Johnson’s whodunit comedy Knives Out completing the top ten.
