Glass cracks US Box Office on debut
Glass shot straight to the top of the US Chart in its opening week.
The film from M Night Shyamalan and starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson and James McAvoy, opened with an impressive $40.5m on its debut. – similar to that of the second film in the series, Split.
That left The Upside still looking on the rosy side in second, with another new entry anime Dragon Ball Super: Broly taking third with $10.6m.
Meanwhile DC’s Aquaman continued to sink, dipping to fourth, with animation Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and A Dog’s Way Home in fifth and sixth.
Thriller Escape Room was heading for the exit door in seventh, with everyone’s favourite nanny, Mary Poppins, losing a bit of her sparkle in eighth.
Transformers’ reboot Bumblebee and the Ruth Bader Ginsberg film On The Basis Of Sex complete the top ten.
