Grindelwald bewitches UK, as Fantastic Beasts on top
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald continued to charm UK cinemagoers, after staying top of the UK Box Office chart.
The magical film, starring Eddie Redmayne and Johnny Depp, took a further £5.6m, taking its tally to £22m and comfortably suppressing its rivals.
That left The Grinch fuming in second, with Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody holding its tune in third, having amassed a grand total of £39m.
New entry Robin Hood, starring Taron Egerton, failed to hit the mark after debuting in fourth with an underwhelming £1.3m, while fellow newcomer Nativity Rocks! opened in fifth.
Elsewhere Claire Foy’s Lisbeth Salander crime drama The Girl In The Spider’s Web opened with a disappointing £557k in sixth, while Steve McQueen’s Lynda La Plante adaptation, Widows, slipped to seventh.
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga continued to enthral audiences with musical A Star Is Born, which has now taken £28m domestically, with Disney’s The Nutcracker And The Four Realms taking ninth, and Polish comedy Planeta Singli 2 completing the top ten.
