It’s a winter wonderland as Frozen II tops UK chart again

Disney sequel Frozen II iced its rivals once again, after topping the bill at the UK Box Office for the second week.

The animation, which sees the return of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven and Kristoff, took another cool £8.7m, taking its tally to £27.3m.

New entry Knives Out, a whodunit from Rian Johnson and starring Daniel Craig, opened in second spot with £2.9m, while festive rom com Last Christmas, starring Emilia Clarke and written by Emma Thompson, slipped over into third.

Recently hitting the headlines is gang drama Blue Story in fourth, while Charlie’s Angels, starring Kristen Stewart and directed by Elizabeth Banks, debuted in fifth with an underpowered £547k.

Christian Bale’s Le Mans ’66 moved into the slow lane in sixth position, with Chadwick Boseman crime drama 21 Bridges dropping to seventh.

Joker continued to entertain in eighth, having bagged £57m in the UK alone, with new entries Polish music bio Proceder and Event Cinema’s The CBeebies Christmas Show 2019 completing the top ten.
