Jolie good showing as Eternals tops US chart once again

Eternals 2

Eternals continued its dominance of the US Box Office as it took an additional $27.5m in its second week.

The latest Marvel superhero outing, which stars Angelina Jolie & Salma Hayek, took its domestic tally to $118m in just two weeks, and staved off challenger Clifford, the big red dog, who debuted in second spot with $16.4m.

Denis Villeneuve’s epic sci-fi Dune, which stars Timothee Chalamet, slipped to third, with 007’s latest venture No Time To Die sliding slowly down the chart after amassing $150m in six weeks, second only to Venom sequel Let There Be Carnage, which saw the Tom Hardy vehicle in fifth, but passing $200m domestically in just seven weeks.

Elsewhere comedy animation Ron’s Gone Wrong moved down to sixth, with Wes Anderson’s all star The French Dispatch down in seventh. New entry Belfast, the wonderful personal story from Kenneth Branagh and starring Jamie Dornan, opened in eight with just $1.8m, while Kristen Stewart’s royal outing in Spencer and horror Antlers complete the top ten.
