Lego blocks rivals, to top UK Chart

Everything continued to be particularly awesome for the sequel to The Lego Movie.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, once again starring Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks, took £4m to top the UK Box Office on its debut weekend.

The animation managed to hold off the challenge of fellow new entry, the James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez effort, Alita: Battle Angel, which opened with £3.1m.

That left How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World in freefall, dropping to third, with feel-good comedy drama and BAFTA winner Green Book, starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen, rolling into fourth.

M Night Shyamalan’s Glass showed signs of cracking, after falling to fifth, with Mary Queen Of Scots failing to conquer all in sixth.

Elsewhere Escape Room dipped to seventh, with Dick Cheney biopic Vice, supernanny Mary Poppins Returns and Kenneth Branagh’s Shakepeare drama All Is True, which opened with just £266k, completing the top ten.

Critically acclaimed drama If Beale Street Could Talk only managed to open in 11thwith £262k.
