Pixar marches Onward with number one in US
Pixar’s latest effort, Onward, stormed to the top of the US Box Office on its opening week.
The animation, which features the voices of Marvel alumni Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, debuted with $39m, no doubt hampered by current health scares.
That left The Invisible Man losing ground and slipping to second, with new entry The Way Back, a sports drama starring Ben Affleck, debuting in third with $8m.
Elsewhere Sonic The Hedgehog lost a yard of pace, dropping back to fourth, with pooch pic The Call Of The Wild starring Harrison Ford laying down in fifth.
Anya Taylor-Joy’s Emma and Will Smith’s reprisal with Bad Boys For Life sit in sixth and seventh respectively, while Margot Robbie’s Birds Of Prey resides in eighth.
Rounding out the top ten are prank comedians Impractical Jokers and My Hero Academic: HR.
