Queen on song as Bohemian Rhapsody serenades UK audiences

Queen were the Champions once more, as the Queen biopic held on to the top spot in the UK.

The movie, which stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, weathered the middling reviews to retain the tops spot in the UK chart with an additional £5.7m, taking its tally to £20.4m.

Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born, starring Lady Gaga, retained second spot with another £1.8m, while new Disney entry The Nutcracker And The Four Realms, starring Mackenzie Foy and Morgan Freeman, debuted in third with £1.7m.

Elsewhere animated adventure Smallfoot stood still in fourth, with Johnny English Strike Again rooted to fifth.

Jack Black’s seasonal treat Goosebumps 2 froze in sixth, with horror Halloween slumped down in seventh.

Tom Hardy’s comic book character Venom stayed still in eighth, while ninth and tenth saw new entries in Simon Pegg’s Slaughterhouse Rulez and Mike Leigh’s historical drama Peterloo.
