Sonic rings the changes to top the UK Chart
Blue speed merchant Sonic The Hedgehog powered past his rivals to top the UK Box Office on debut.
The fleet-footed fella captured £4.7m, as it was all change at the top of the chart with the Oscar-winning South Korean dark comedy Parasite surging up to second.
Robert Downey Jr’s animal-talking Dolittle fell on deaf ears, slipping to third, while acclaimed war drama 1917, directed by Sam Mendes, went fourth.
Margot Robbie’s Bird Of Prey, featuring one Harley Quinn, skated down to fifth, while Autumn De Wilde’s new Jane Austen adaptation, Emma, starring Anya Taylor Joy, opened in sixth with £1.6m.
Elsewhere Will Smith and Martin Lawrence saw the Bad Boys have a bad day in seventh, while new entry 365 Dni, a Polish mafia drama, debuted in eighth with £378k.
Jumanji sequel The Next Level and Guy Ritchie’s gangster thriller The Gentlemen complete the top ten.
