Spidey swings past rivals to top US Box Office
The new Spider-Man movie, Far From Home, jumped straight past its rivals to the top of the US Box Office.
The new release, starring Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal, debuted with $93.6m over the Independence Day period, pushing Woody and Buzz back into second place, despite Toy Story amassing an impressive $306m thus far.
Danny Boyle’s Beatles’ tribute Yesterday dropped to third, while horror Annabelle Comes Home crawled into fourth, and Aladdin reboot’s light dimmed a little in fifth.
Sixth spot saw Florence Pugh horror Midsommar open with $6.5m, while the less terrifying Secret Life Of Pets 2 lay down in seventh.
MIB International slumped to eighth, with Avengers: Endgame and Elton’s Rocketman completing the top ten.
