The Nun buries rivals in UK Chart
Warner Bros’ latest movie, religious horror The Nun, topped the chart at the UK Box Office in its debut week.
The film, starring Taissa Farmiga, which is from The Conjuring stable of horror movies, took £4m in its opening week, giving Christopher Robin the last rites and consigning him to second spot.
Spike Lee’s latest, the ever impressive BlackKklansman, continued to perform well in third place, with ABBA sing-a-long Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again sliding to fourth, eight weeks in.
Jason Statham’s shark obsession, The Meg, continued to sink slowly down to fifth, with Incredbiles 2 dipping to sixth, having taken more than £54m in the UK.
Elsewhere John Cho drama Searching, about a missing daughter, fell to seven, with Hotel Transylvania 3 and The Equalizer 2 in eighth and ninth.
The last spot saw Hugo Weaving’s Black 47, set during the Irish famine, with an advance opening in 10th, while STX’s crime caper American Animals opened in 13thwith a disappointing £347k.
