The Predator top of the tree in the UK
The Predator, the latest chapter in the memorable franchise, crashed straight into the top spot in the UK Box Office.
The new entry, directed by Shane Black, took £2.3m in its opening week, and read The Nun its last rites at the top.
Crazy Rich Asians, the glitzy rom com which stormed the charts in the US, debuted in third spot with £1.6m, with fellow newcomer, the less glitzy but star studded King Of Thieves, with three knights on the roster, in fourth place with £1.5m.
Frontrunner Christopher Robin and his friends had the stuffing knocked out of them, as they slumped to fifth, with ABBA musical fest Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! hanging in there in sixth, having amassed more than £64m in its nine weeks.
Spike Lee’s BlackKklansman continued in seventh, with Incredibles 2, Hotel Transylvania 3 and Jason Statham’s The Meg completing the top ten.
