UK audiences blown away by Sonic boom
Sonic The Hedgehog continued to lead his rivals in the UK Box Office footrace.
The family adventure, which stars Jim Carrey, topped the chart for the second week, over half term, with £4.1m, holding fellow animal adventure Dolittle, starring Robert Downey Jr, in second.
After its incredible success at the Academy Awards, Parasite continued to capitalise, moving into third, while new entry The Call Of The Wild, featuring Harrison Ford and an animated hound, debuted in fourth with £1.4m.
Jane Austen adaptation Emma moved up to fifth, with Sam Mendes’ war drama 1917 fell to sixth.
Elsewhere Margot Robbie’s Birds Of Prey crashed to seventh, while new entries Like A Boss, starring Rose Byrne, and Katie Holmes’ horror Brahms: The Boy II opened in eighth and ninth respectively with just over £500k, while Will Smith’s Bad Boys For Life completes the top ten.
Steve Coogan and Michael Winterbottom collaboration Greed opened in 11thwith £369k.
