World domination continues for Thanos & The Avengers
Blockbusting juggernaut Avengers: Endgame remained top of the US Chart for the third week running.
The fantasy adventure, starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, took another $63m to take it domestic tally to $723m, and its global tally to an eyewatering $2.49 billion.
That said, the second spot was hot on its heels, with Pokemon Detective Pikachu, featuring Ryan Reynolds, opening with an impressive $58m.
Despite poor reviews, The Hustle, starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson in an updated Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, debuting in third place with $13.5m.
That left Sony thriller The Intruder slinking down into fourth, while Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron rom com slipping to fifth.
Diane Keaton’s latest comedy Poms opened in sixth with $5.1m, while animation Uglydolls and Breakthrough, starring Topher Grace, reside in seventh and eighth respectively.
Elsewhere another new entry, Tolkien, featuring Nicholas Hoult as the legendary writer, debuted in ninth with just $2.1m while Captain Marvel continued to sit in the top ten 10 weeks in, having taken in excess of 1.12 billion globally.
